Her Journey Her Strength – Ep VI: Ornament Becomes Armor with Angelica Lorenzi

In this episode, we feature Angelica Lorenzi (b. 1990, Italy) — a Los Angeles–based artist and educator weaving ceramics and design into lush, speculative worlds. Her work imagines ecosystems where nature asserts its own agency — alive, unruly, and never ornamental. Surfaces swell with organic rhythms and mineral skins, transforming ornament into armor: beauty layered as both shield and revelation.

As a faculty member at SCI-Arc, Angelica explores material futures and ecological entanglements, crafting objects that are as opulent as they are critical. Her work has been shown internationally, including at the Biennale di Venezia, MAK Museum in Vienna, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, and Galerie Lulla.
